Yes friends, I'm going to this year's TCM Classic Film Festival! From April 28th through May 1st, I will enjoy four full days of one of the things I love most in life--classic cinema. The festival shows screenings at the theaters where many of these movies were originally shown--such as Grauman's Chinese Theater and the Egyptian Theater--and hosts parties with the stars of yesteryear at Hollywood's historic Roosevelt Hotel. For those who know me, you can imagine my excitement.
Last year's festival included classics like Hitchcock's North by Northwest (with guest speakers Eva Marie Saint and Martin Landau), Godard's Breathless (with guest speaker Jean-Paul Belmondo), and Neptune's Daughter projected poolside at the Roosevelt (complete with synchronized swimmers and guest speaker Esther Williams). This year's lineup is still much under wraps, but two that have already been announced are An American in Paris and the newly restored Citizen Kane.
Tickets are going fast, so be sure to buy yours today if you're interested in going as well. I can't wait!
