In March of 1962, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy took a widely publicized trip with her sister, Lee Radizwell, to India. Of course she completely delighted everyone she met, which included distinguished visits with Indira Ghandi and Prime Minister Nehru. Her wardrobe for the visit was stunning--most in color saturated silks and cotton, and shaped in the types of streamlined silhouettes she wore again and again. I consider the dresses from this trip many of her best ever and see the influence they've had on my own wardrobe. Since color is so popular for this Spring, I thought Jacquie would be the perfect inspiration for how wonderful color can be in any woman's wardrobe. White gloves not necessary.
Though the quality of the film isn't great, it's still fun to skim through the footage
to catch Jackie's various outfits as she tours India
