Their April issue sure looks like it does! Though Lucky may not officially like GlamAmor yet, this month was virtually cover to cover in sync with everything I espouse here. It starts in the Editor's Letter where Brandon praises Lucky's blogger conference guest Joan Rivers who practically ordered the crowd to "Dress up a little, for God's sake!" It closes with 1940s inspiration from "My Mom, the Style Icon" and current fashion options to look that classic again.
And in between those pages, they have cover girl Zooey Deschanel fashioned in her favorite flirty 1950s-inspired dresses, editors selecting Country Club preppy chic and the Retro Girly appeal of 50s accessories as their must haves for the month, my favorite early 1960s silhouette--the "wiggle dress," as they call it--selected as "The Sexiest Dress Ever," and a full photo spread of colorful textured ladylike ensembles called "The Good Life." I couldn't agree more.
I've always liked Lucky, largely because they appreciate true vintage and recognize its inspiration in today's fashion. They also blend beauty fantasy with reality really well, giving us plenty of options to shop while embracing so many different styles. I would absolutely love to officially bring the style of GlamAmor to Lucky as one of their guest bloggers. You never know, it could happen! After all, this month's issue gives me hope.
