Join me and the talented team behind the FIDM Museum for the opening of Thierry Mugler: Alien to Angel - an exhibition exploring the unconventional and otherworldly work of Parisian fashion designer Thierry Mugler. The lecture day will feature an in-depth look at Mugler's career, his inspiration from classic film costume, and the raucous French fashion scene at New York's Henri Bendel department store in the 1980s and 90s.
In my talk, I will share the classic films and costume designers whose work directly inspired Mugler. You'll see images of those movies followed by examples from his own collections that illustrate that influence.
